Tradition teaches that when people come together to study Torah, the Shechinah (God’s presence) dwells among them. Each Shabbat morning, before the service, we come together to read through and discuss the Torah portion of the week. This is led by either Rabbi Lader or the congregant who is leading that week’s service. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, pose possible interpretations, and bring their life experiences to the discussion in an atmosphere of active listening and cooperative dialogue. It is a great opportunity for us all to increase our learning.
Adult Learning Program*
Our very successful Adult Learning Program* continues with two weekly options:
1 – Pathways Through Midrash with Rabbi Lader –
9:45-10:45 a.m. — Sunday mornings
Explore the multi-layered stories of Torah through the eyes of the Rabbis, poets and writers across the centuries and up to today…
2 – Hebrew for Beginners, Advanced Beginners, and Intermediate levels
Our teachers are ready to meet with you one-on-one…
We also offer a Sunday morning class at 11:00 a.m.
Please call the temple office (216-941-8882) to let us know your interest area, or contact Rabbi Lader (firstname.lastname@example.org)
*Our Adult Learning Program – sponsored by our Lifelong Learning Committee – has a number of special programs planned for the coming year, from exploring antisemitism around the world, to updates on Jewish life on the college campus and responding to the BDS movement, to discussing Jewish Parenting, to discussing Jewish books…
We’ll keep you posted… and please be in touch with us (through the temple office 216-941-8882) if you have ideas and/or suggestions.
